Research

I am jointly advised by Prof. Joel Burdick and Prof. Richard Murray, combining interests in sensor-based motion planning strategies with multi-vehicle cooperative control.

My current work and interest is in the generation of theory and applications of mobile sensors for distributed sensing and decision-making. Mobility of sensing agents can greatly enhance the quality of the information attained, and my work is in developing a framework for examining and designing the appropriate control signals for these information-gathering tasks.

For more information about current and completed projects, please visit my projects page, where you can find descriptions and media of my research projects.

Academics

I successfully defended my thesis on Friday, May 18th, so I'm looking forward to the journey ahead as an academic.

I began my doctoral studies in Mechanical Engineering at Caltech in 2003.

I graduated with a B.S. degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University in August, 2001 under the guidance of Prof. Raff D'Andrea.

Since then, I received my M.S. degree, also in Mechanical Engineering, in June of 2002 at Caltech, and passed my qualification exams in the subjects of Math, Control Theory, and Dynamical Systems in April 2003.
